These guys at parkingticket.com are FULL of BALONEY (I'd rather use another word than "baloney", but I'm trying to be professional).
Their ad states if they don't win your ticket (in my case it was 2 separate tickets), you get your money back form them, PERIOD.
There is no mention of the hurdles you must jump over and hoops you must jump through to GET your money back (by this I mean their TERMS & CONDITIONS that they ENFORCE like a gustapo).
If I didn't have access to a fax machine, this would be even harder, as all documents sent to them MUST be faxed to another location (not NJ). You cannot call these people, and emailing is a tedious process. Your email goes to someone in a help area, who then directs it to one of their actual employees, and then back to the help desk, then to you.
I paid everyone I was supposed to, appealed the City of NY, faxed over a ton of paperwork. Parkingticket has been telling me what to do, and I was appreciative of the help. So I did whatever they asked. It has been one excuse after another with parkingticket NOT to give me my money back. The bottom line is I did everything they wanted me to do, and in the end they say "you missed our deadline". Which is also BS, because my initial paperwork WAS filed within their timeline. As soon as I got my determinations from the city (which took time in itself, I HAD to wait for the city of NY, before I could anything MYSELF!) Unfortunately, I have no proof that everything was given to them on time, because it was all done by FAX.
They lost my vehicle registration (which I know they had from day one), and then claimed I did not fax all my certified mail receipts. That got me second guessing myself as to whether or not I had used certified mail for everything. I did, and found the "missing" paperwork that THEY probably LOST THEMSELVES. They didn't even refund ONE of the 2 tickets, let alone both.
Between:
Paying these guys (2 tickets @ $57.50 each)
paying the city (2 tickets @ $110.00 each)
paying them to send the money to the city (2 fees @ $5.00 each)
paying for 4 certified mailing (4 @ $5-7 each)
I would have been better off just paying my tickets!
I want my money back and i'll drop this issue!!!
PS: I filed a complaint with Parking Services (parkingticket.com) in NJ, with the BBB, Consumer Protection Agency and all the NY City news agencies that have a consumer "fighting" section.
