Parking ticket defenses are a joke and won't give refunds. Ripoff!

I used parkingticket.com to try to beat a $115 NYC double parking ticket. I used to file defenses on my own, but their claims sounded good and I thought I'd give them a try. They claim to employ former judges and traffic agents, so I figured theu had the inside dope on how to beat tickets. You just have to pay them half of the ticket, and you get refunded if you are still found guilty.

They emailed me in a day the defense. This is the funny part. The 2 excuses they gave were something along the lines of 1) the fine is excessive and 2) the ticket is just to fill a quota. I could not believe that I paid to have these excuses used! But, they were the experts, so let's see what happens.

Of course I was denied, but was told to appeal by parkingticket.com. Guess what their new excuse for the appeal was. This was even better than the first. They said that the judge apparently didn't read the first letter carefully enough, and here it was again! I had to submit copies of the original letter and was in effect saying, "Uh, judge. You obviously mis-understood my first letter. Read it again!" Boy, I really felt good about my chances now!

OK, denied again. What a surprise. Ok, now for my refund. I faxed it in 6 weeks after the judges denial letter and found out the I had to do it in 30 days! Did they mention this in the step by step procedure that they list? No, it's burried in the terms and conditions! When I complained, I got this arrogant email saying Too Bad! You should have read the terms! Of course, you can never speak to a live person. How else can they hide from their customers?

Don't waste your time with them. The amount of work they make you do with all the copying and faxing multiple times feels like trying to file for a rebate where they hope you miss a step so they can deny you. They have the info already, why send it to them again? You would do better just showing up in court or filing a defense online than to waste your time and money with these scammers. I ended up spending $115 and $60 for this and just got shafted, instead of results.
