On April 10th I saw an advertisement from NetMagazines.com for what I thought was a great deal. Five magazine subscriptions for $30. Seemed too good to be true, eh? Well, you know what they say about that. I put my order in and afterwards they told me to wait up to 12 weeks for the delivery of my first magazine. They were to have arrived on July 4th. I gave them an extra 10 days, til July 14th.
When I recieved not one subscription, I called them. The line was "out of order". I filed an online complaint through their website. I got an automated response saying they would look into the matter and contact me within 5 business days. Five business days passed and not one word. I e-mailed them again. They responded with what I thought was a personal reply at the time. But we'll get to that in a moment. The e-mail said that their had been a problem with my order and that I could have one of two things done: get a refund or have the magazines re-ordered. I replied that I would like a refund unless the magazines could be sent to me within a couple weeks. I was never responded to.
I sent another e-mail. No response. I decided to try calling them. I got through! Well, at least a voicemail. I left a message. No reply. I left another message. No reply. I filed another online complaint which recieved an actual reply. It was the very same reply, word for word, that I recieved prior, asking if I wanted a refund or a re-order. I wrote them in big capital letters: REFUND!
They sent me an email on August 10th saying my refund had been granted but as of today it has not been deposited. I told them both in my voicemail and e-mail I expect a full refund by Friday, August 12th. I have already contacted the Better Business Bureau. I have prepared a Consumer Complaint for the state attorney general. I am considering filing a lawsuit, hopefully class-action.
Needless to say, I do NOT recommend ordering through this company and their website. Avoid at all costs.
