Misinformation, poor customer service Ripoff

On June 3, I called customer service in order to change my service plan. A customer service representative told me that I would have to visit a local Suncom store in order to change my plan. After work, I went to the Suncom store, located at 7350 Two Notch Rd. And I was informed that I could not change my plan at the store that I would have to call 611 from my cellular phone in order to change my plan. A bit frustrated, I went to my car and called 611 and waited over 7 minutes for a customer service representative to help me. The woman who answered the phone told me that I would have to visit a local Suncom store in order to change my plan. I explained to her that the Suncom store employee had told me to call 611 and she told me I have been misinformed. It was at that exact month that I decided to change my telephone carrier. I enter a Verizon Wireless store and switch my carrier, ported my number and purchased a new cellular phone.

After my service had been set up, I called Suncom's customer service in order to make sure that my account was closed, since my number was fully ported, and I was informed that the requested had not yet been received. I called Verizon Wireless and was informed that yes the request had been placed and that problem was with Suncom. Since I was/am able to receive and make calls on my new phone, I know that the problem is Suncom. I called Suncom's customer service office on Sunday and was told that all of Suncom's systems were down. The woman who assisted me assured me that if my number was ported on Friday, which it was, that my service should be discontinued on Monday - June 6.

Sad to say, this is not the case. Today I called 611 to confirm that my service will be disconnected and your representative, Ebony, informed me that I would have to visit a local Suncom store in order to discontinue my service. I called the Suncom store, located at 7350 Two Notch Rd. And I was informed that I could not cancel my plan at the store that I would have to call 611 because their systems could not cancel my plan. Then shockingly I was told that I would have to give a 30-day notice in order to cancel my plan, which I did via e-mail on April 28.

I would like for my service to be discontinued and be credited for the following days June 4th-6th. I have been a loyal customer for over a year and I am highly disappointed by the way your company has treated me.
