I am filing this report in an effort to alert prospective customers of Signature Van Lines to avoid using them at all cost and don't make the same mistake I made.
We contracted with them July and took delivery of our household goods October. We paid for extra insurance in the amount of $50,000 and filed a claim for numerous damages November. After stalling us for many months, they denied our claim March 8. We have called many times to discuss this with Signature and left numerous messages but have yet to receive a response from them. A complaint to the Pennsylvania State Attorney General has yet to yield results.
We have moved many times over the years but this move was by far the absolute worst. The goods were haphazardly packed... Towels were wrapped with care and fragile goods were just thrown in a box. We didn't realize this until the goods were delivered. The goods were packed in two trucks but we were assured they would use a larger truck for delivery. Not the case as they made two trips two weeks apart and both trucks arrived after 10pm at night.
The insurance claim was, in part, for a bureau they dropped off the truck. Shaq made notes of the broken items not in boxes and assured me that Lloyds of London, their insurance provider would honor the claim.
I'm not holding my breath.
