Ripoff, signal/service left area, CS doesn't care false advertising Southwest Oklahoma

Service mostly bad here, but was able to only have to go 2-3 miles to use phone. About a month ago, service/signal just quit. I dutifully reported that there was a problem here, but they really don't care - because I'm roaming and it must be another tower's fault. "OK, fine, could you please at least report there's a problem with a tower you must've had on the network before?" I ask — they say "sure" but I check back later and there's no report.

I'm temporarily located in SW Okla. To see to elderly mom's affairs for a few more months. Home service in Las Vegas, NV where other phone on family plan is still being used by niece.

Read (& posted) comments on cellreception.com's site and realize this problem is nationwide. The consistent theme: merger seems to have hurt numerous long time customers; other cell phones work where now Cingular no longer does; Customer Service indifferent to complaints.

Many of us were patient at first. Gave them the benefit of the doubt when problems first surfaced because we weren't used to having such trouble from the service and figured they would "work out the bugs" and all will be back to normal. We all seem to running out of that patience.

It's very frustrating to see the tv ads that claim "allover" and "raising the bar" and how can the numbers keep climbing (now says 270 million) when the service is worsening? Especially if service is mysteriously taken away from areas it existed before?

It would help if Cingular would start spending money on fixing the current problems instead of spending so much on tv ad time. I figure each commercial costs about the same as adding another badly needed tower in areas where service has been taken away from long time customers.

Aren't there laws about false advertising? Or breach of contract? Surely there's a few lawyers that have also been affected by Cingular.
