I had an outstanding ticket with Long Beach court for over $1,200. As a result I cannot renew my drivers license until this is paid in full.
I was contacted by GC Services who claimed to be handling the debt for the court. I send them the full amount via Western Union. The GC rep told me it would take about 2 business days until the DMV received the paperwork stating the ticket was paid.
1 week later I went to the DMV and they said the ticket was still on my record. I called GC and let them know and they said they did receive the payment but the paperword had not been faxed. They said they would do so and again I would have to wait 2 business days. 2 weeks later I returned to the DMV and again they told me the ticket was still on record.
I called GC yet again. This time I was very upset. When I called GC they would transfer me to another department and I would get disconnected. After almost an hour of calling and holding I finally spoke with someone. I started ranting and he quickly hung up on me. I was so frustrated I almost threw my cell phone against a wall!
Well it's been about 2 and a half months since I paid this ticket, and still the DMV has no record of it. I have called and called and called and they always promise me it will be taken care of and it never is. I don't know what else to do except take them to small claims court. I hope it doesn't have to get to that point.
Do not trust these people. Once they get your money there isn't much you can do.
