About a year ago I changed my prepaid wireless phone with AT&T to a regular plan.in doing this I had to pay a "down payment" or "deposit" which was to be returned to me within 1 year. Well I paid all my charges on time and followed everything that was requested of me. I even called and spoke to Customer serive and they could not help me. Seems somewhere along the line someone at AT&T accidently posted my deposit as a payment and credited my account with the money I transfered to them. Well it NEVER SHOWED ON ANY STATEMENT! In fact a few people at customer service told me - Not to worry about it, that the credit was some "Marketing Item" and I did not have to repay the money. Well I kept getting charged for it and now it has went to collection. They even cut my service off due to thier mistake! They would not accept payment on the balance due - They wanted the whole amount right now. Within 2 days of them realizing thier mistake - they cut my service and within a week the phone number was assigned to a new person!!!
