Sucks BIG TIME!

I'm not the first disgruntled WorldCom customer and I'm sure that I won't be the last!

I originally made the HUGE error of signing up with WorldCom Wireless via a postcard that I had received in the mail. I was pretty ignorant at the time about which wireless companies were operating in my area and decided to go ahead and sign-up. BIG MISTAKE!

I was sent an older model phone with the calling plan, which was effective for one year from the time of sign-up. Ok, fine, I could live with that. For the time I was on the plan, I didn't have any problems, BUT when the plan expired and I decided to change plans, that's when the trouble started.

It took several tries before I could actually reach a person to have my calling plan changed. I was assured that the plan was changed and that I would be billed accordingly. WRONG!

After about 3 weeks, I found out through a friend that my voice mail had been deactivated so I called WorldCom (after several attempts due to "heavy call volumes" according to WorldCom) to find out why. I found out that the moron who was supposed to switch my plan, hadn't and as a result, I was being charged for extra minutes that were supposed to be included in my new plan. I explained to the customer service rep that I had called previously and my plan was supposed to have been switched. The rep promised that he would be sure that it was switched retroactively and that my voice mail would be reset. Ok, fine.
A month later, my voice mail was deactivated again and after several attempts, I managed to speak to another rep and was given the same song and dance as before. This time though, I threatened to cancel my service and go with Verizon, a Bell company that WorldCom was in direct competition with. Most telecommunications companies try to keep their customers from switching to the competition or so I thought! WorldCom couldn't care less about the customer.

A couple of weeks later and the same scenario repeated itself, I had a payment due at the time so I decided to pay my bill over the phone. Another BIG mistake! The rep took my account information and the payment was supposed to have been posted to my account. Well, about two weeks later, I received a bill stating that I owed the amount that I had paid. Here we go again, I wasted more time calling WorldCom to find out why I was still being charged. I was assured that the payment was on record, but due to changes in its billing procedures, WorldCom had not posted the payment yet. Ok, fine.

About two more weeks pass and this time my service is disconnected. After being on hold for about an hour, I was told that the payment was not recorded on my account and a supervisor stated that "we have thousands of customers, paperwork gets lost in the shuffle." So they had lost my payment! Great. Well, this was the last straw. I decided to cancel my service, but I had to call another number to do it! After another hour on hold, I managed to have my service terminated. According to the morons at WorldCom, I don't have a contract, so I won't have to pay any penalties. I wonder how many bills I'll get from them before this nightmare is finally over!

I hope that some potential WorldCom Wireless subscribers read these reviews of WorldCom's HORRIBLE service and don't make the major mistake of considering them for a wireless provider!!!
