A $1 charge first appeared on my credit card statement three months ago. The second month, they charged me $14.95. I figured it was just a purchase that I forgot about at that time. Finally, this month, when I was re-billed from the same company, I got to wondering where this charge was coming from.
I did a google search and found that others had fallen victim to the same scam. I tried calling the 1-800 number listed on the credit card statement... But the number wasn't working. So I called my credit card company, canceled my card and initiated an investigation. Subsequently I have found the company's "website" which lacks contact information and looks as though it were designed by a three-year-old.
Has anyone else fallen victim to this? I'm trying to figure out how they got my credit card number in the first place...
