In 1999 and before I had excellent credit with my late husband Tony Tromba, as a matter of fact we had a credit limit of $7000 I had remarried in Nov of 1998 and continued with the same credit limit. I moved from Bay City, MI to Kingman, AZ.in August and paid my Sears bill in full.
In 2001 my bills had gotten ahold of me from my late husbands death and much to my regret I had to file bankruptcy on December of of 2001. The next summer I went to use my sears card and found it had expired and I had to fill a new one out. I went to the Sears store in Kingman and I was refused a new card.
I felt this refusal was unfair, through the years my husbands and I had spent thousands of dollars at the Sears stores and even in their catalog, when they had one. I'm sure the stores know one can't file again for 6 yrs, which I have no plans of doing. So why when my credit was so good there did they refuse me my new credit card, It hadn't been taken away from me, it had expired and I for got to get the new one?
I would appreciate an answer from sears as soon as possible and thank you.
