Statement Regarding: Moving Services 2221 NE 164 Street Suite 358 N. Miami Beach FL 6573
In January I, Celeste Rousseau started inquiries with different moving companies. My plan was to relocate internationally from North Carolina to Sedgefield South Africa in September. My inquiries involved reference requests, whether the company had been in business a long time, and most importantly if they were registered with the Better Business Bureau. Moving Services of 2221 NE 164 st Suite 358 N. Miami Beach FL 6573, not only met these requirements, their customer service and efficiency was phenomenal. I hired them as my movers.
Jennifer Spinneli was my contact person. She explained the shipment would take 6 8 weeks. The reference number she gave me was C317000. She requested a $980.00 deposit, I furnished her with my checking details and the money was withdrawn from my account. Originally I was told that the balance would be paid on delivery. This policy changed and I was informed to pay the balance of $1820.00 to the movers who picked my goods up.
My pick-up was scheduled for September 24th. The moving company never arrived. That day, I tried numerous times to reach the dispatcher Chris @ Moving Services. He finally returned my call at 3pm that afternoon. Stating that the pick-up would be rescheduled for October 3rd. My departure from the US was on the 27th September so I had to arrange with a friend to be available for the pick-up a week later. He had problems reaching them during that week. I was concerned and e-mailed BBB. Their response was prompt and they assured me everything was still on schedule.
The movers arrived @ 10.30pm on Sunday October 3rd in a generic white moving truck. According to my friend, the two men, an African American named Mike and a Middle Eastern man, packed my items and provided him with an itemized list. I was able to trace one guys cell phone number (917 349-2718). I have called and left messages, but with no response. A Tape Lot No: AAD163 was indicated on my invoice. The balance of $1820.00 was paid to the movers, a check made out to Moving Services.
Around the 28th November. I attempted to call Moving Services at the number I was given (305) 956 -5115. A recording stated that the number was no longer in Service. My goods had not arrived at this point. I tried for several days but was unable to reach anyone.
On November 30th I called the North Miami Police Department and left a statement with Officer Wilson Ref# 1130-18. As of this date, 9th December I still have no whereabouts of my goods and I am still actively seeking them.
