In August I contacted Moving Services (movingservices.Us) to facilitate a move overseas. I was skeptical, but not having moved overseas before, I didn't know the "warning signs" for a scam. So, here I am telling others to abvoid this rip-off. Their internet site is still up and others can be fooled until it is taken down!!!
After contacting Moving Services, I arranged a "port-to-port" move. They didn't come to pick up my belongings. On Sept 15, I drove the things I wanted to ship to a warehouse in Charlotte, NC that was contracted by Moving Services.
My things are STILL in Charlotte! Moving Services hasn't paid the contractor and my things have been in the warehouse there for over a month! I have paid Moving Services in full (according to our "contract"), but they haven't done anything! I contacted the company that they contracted with and the manager there said that he has 21 un-paid orders from Moving Services!
Moving Services phone has been disconnected or they won't answer your call. They don't reply to emails.
It seems like this kind of thing happens over and over! Why do these contractors do business with these people? The whole moving industry seems to be corrupt! I think that the moving services companies that arrange for the service are working "with" the shipping companies. The shipping companies know that either the customers will come to them to pay (AGAIN) to have their things moved or the customer will never see their stuff again!
There are other reports on this site about Moving Services. My advice from personal experience — do not use them! There are other web sites that provide information that will help you select a professional mover and ensure that you have the documentation to hold them accountable!
Don't be fooled. Don't use Moving Services (movingservices.Us)!
