On April 8th I called Sailwinds Park in Cambridge Maryland and ordered 8 tickets to a Drowning Pool Concert which was scheduled for May 21st. The following week I received a call from Sailwinds stating that their manager decided to cancel the show due to lack of interest.
I was told that my credit card would be refunded the $220.00 I paid for the tickets which had already been applied to my credit card. After I received two credit card billing statements and the refund was not there I called Sailwinds back to ask about the status of my refund. The person who answered the phone told me that she was not in control of billing and that it could take another month. I decided to wait one more month for the refund.
In July I decided to call back once again and this time the phone had been disconnected to Sailwinds park. That is when I got really nervous, how does an establishment have their phone line disconnected? They certaintly ripped me off enough to pay their phone bill for at least a few months. So I went to their website and sent an e-mail inquiring again about my refund from APRIL!
The lady that replied to my e-mail was the same lady who I had spoken with on the phone the previous month. She told me in the e-mail that there was nothing she could do but forward it to the billing department. I clearly stated in my e-mail that I wanted someone to contact me regarding my refund, that of course never happened.
It is now September 11... 5 months later and I have yet to receive my refund, or hear from a representative from Sailwinds Park to explain why they have failed to return my money to me or apologize for the struggle I have had to go thru in calling and e-mailing them repeatedly just to get MY MONEY back for services they did not provide.
I will make sure that everyone knows that I got ripped off, this is only my first step. Nobody should pay money to them if they can simply cancel a scheduled show and keep your money and have nobody accountable for it. I live an hour away from Sailwinds and did not want to have to go there in person to demand my refund but I guess that is what it has come to.
If you are considering purchasing tickets to a Sailwinds event I would highly advise against it. They are quick to process your payment and get your tickets to you, but they are even quicker to cancel the event and make sure you can not contact a person there with questions or concerns you have. Don't get ripped off like I have!
