I scheduled an appointment for my wife and I to skydive about 2 weeks in advance. When I made the appointment she stated that she needed our "credit card information to hold the reservation". We started to rethink the decision later because of different financial pressures and incidents etc.
I called and asked what the cancelation policy was, and I asked her if we would lose any money. We were told 24 hours was what we needed in order to cancel without penalty. I called about 2 days before our appointment and cancelled.
I looked at our bank statement the next week and there was $100 taken out by the Sky Knights after our planned skydive appointment. I was shocked to see this charge because there was never any mention of a $50 per person deposit. I was also told that it was a non-refundable deposit.
All of our transactions were over the phone. The woman claimed that she had told us the amount and that it was non-refundable. None of which I remember otherwise I would not be shocked or on this website. All she told me at the time of making the appointment was the she needed my CC info to hold the reservation. I thought that was in case we were a no-show.
I was also on their website before I scheduled an appointment and all I saw was deposit required. The "non-refundable" is NOT written on their website, or is there any amount on the website. They are trying to keep our money. No one had to come out, no one wasted their time. Nothing was lost, they made the easiest $100 by being deceptive and omitting information to the general public.
I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general's office of WI notifying them that their information to the general public is incomplete and misleading.
Furthermore if they try to change the deposit policy on the website I have printed all relevant pages to their policies on appointments and deposits.
