I am truly sorry that Donna fell ill the other night. These things happen, and thank goodness she is okay.
Even so, Ticketmaster, Cache Creek, the promoter Fahn & Co. Productions, and Donna Summer herself ought to be embarrassed by how they have handled the ticket holders. All of them have left us, Donna's fans, feeling cheated, angry and hurt.
I held six tickets to Donna's show at Cache Creek. The runaround that Cache Creek and Ticketmaster are giving ticket holders is criminal. Ticketmaster refuses any refunds because the promoter told them that Donna performed as soon as she sang a single note. I paid nearly $450.00 to watch Donna Summer perform her ENTIRE SHOW, not 20-25 minutes of it, ten of which belonged to her husband.
Nobody has contact information for Fahn & Co. Not the BBB, the yellow pages or the State of California. [Evidently putting on shows in California is a fly-by-night business with no licensing required.]
Cache Creek is useless. They abandoned everyone the night of the concert, and their security harassed us. Then they offered a free buffet dinner, which not one of you would settle for. They cannot even keep their story straight about whether Donna was hospitalized.
As for Donna, where is she? (Oh yes, that short statement she made, I nearly forgot.) Her name and reputation are at stake, and it will land on her in the end, so you would expect her to show some concern for how her fans were treated. Yes, venues are booked far ahead, but she could at least have offered something like "Maybe we can do a makeup show" to show real concern, rather than ignoring the situation.
I doubt it even occurred to Donna what became of all the fans who paid good money to see her that night. After all, she was paid in full for a full show. [According to Cache Creek, she was paid in full, up front.]
Her silence tells me Donna knows how little she performed that night, and apparently she agrees with Fahn and Co. that singing one note counts as performing. She must also think it is fine that her fans got a "free meal" and were treated like dirt.
WELL, THIS FAN DOES NOT FIND IT OK!
I have supported Donna loyally for years, in good times and bad, and it would be nice if she stepped up and did the right thing.
Ripped off and angry.
