I was going to NY so I purchased Phantom of the Opera Tickets online Friday, March 24. The show was for the following Monday evening, March 27. Later I recieved an email with a CONFIRMATION NUMBER for my purchase.
When I tried to pick up my tickets at the box office the night of the show, they weren't there. I called immediately and was told that the show was sold out and that they had sent me an e-mail telling me so. This is not true. No e-mail was ever sent in that regard.
I was upset because we had come to see a show, and Erik had the solution. They had great seats available to another Broadway show and would I be interested in those. It was for RENT, a show I didnt really want to see, but we were all dressed up and ready to see a musical, and it was going to start in 15 minutes so I had to decide quickly. Take the inferior show or go home.
We took the show and it was just OK. I DID recieve the e-mail that showed that we changed Phantom tickets to Rent and the charge to the credit card. It looks like I got caught in a classic Bait and Switch scheme.
