I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the handling of my vehicle, a 2000 Honda Civic LX, which I entrusted to this dealership on or around September 10, 2024, for inspection and a full estimate of repair costs.
Despite repeated requests, I have not received a written estimate or any information about my vehicle. I was contacted once about a month after I dropped it off and was told that all the parts for the vehicle were nowhere to be found, so I could not receive an estimate. I was informed that I could pick up my vehicle if I wanted to. I requested a total amount to pick up the vehicle and was told I would receive an email.
Very soon after that phone call, on the very same day to be exact, personal circumstances beyond my control occurred that I do not wish to discuss. However, at the six- or seven-month mark after dropping off the vehicle, on at least three separate occasions, I contacted your dealership. After digging through my emails searching for the invoice of the total amount and hoping that the vehicle was still there, I was surprised to find that it was. I managed to speak to the individual I had initially dealt with, who stated that they could not obtain the parts but informed me of some of the items that would need replacing. I asked him for a total amount so that I could retrieve the vehicle and, if possible, a list of the parts to see if I could find them myself. He finally emailed me a paper with some parts, but it was more of a summary of what the vehicle required, not the actual parts. I sent a return email and asked for a total amount so I could pick up the vehicle. I even emailed him and, while on the phone with him, gave him my updated contact information. I never got a return email or any phone calls from him, but someone from the service department contacted me to inform me of my oil change. I let her know that they were still in possession of my Honda and brought her up to speed on the situation. She sounded as if she was going to help me. She said, “I’m going to find out if your vehicle is still here, and I will give you a call back.” I even gave her the name of the individual to make it easier for her. I waited for her return call, and I still continue to wait.
Each time, I was assured that someone would follow up, but no estimate or resolution was ever provided, no call back, and no vehicle. Personally, I felt that it sounded as if someone there wanted my vehicle for themselves.
This prolonged delay has caused significant inconvenience and hardship. I mean, it has been over a year.
