I have been in my house for about eight years now and need to get a lower payment. I have applied through several programs and have been turned down. I received letter from GMAC stating, "We service your loan on behalf of an investor or group of investors that has not given us authority to modify your loan." This means, I would have to be going through a divorce, death, or disability.
Please tell me how to get rid of Fannie Mae and get another investor with reasonable rates even though I have been late twice, October and October. I have a 5.75% rate on the main mortgage.
