Bank of america home loans
Wrong Advise-Rude behavior. - Optinal

I was told by Maria on 1/20 in the mortgage banking department, wrong information that caused a financial hardship. I have never missed a single mortgage payment and am never late. So I feel I should be a VALUED customer. Especially with all the foreclosures in these economic times.
I had to call 3 times on 2/2 to try and find out what happened with my account. Each time I was given very rude treatment, wrong information and no apology for my inconvenience.
I would like someone to look into that call and find out why Maria told me I COULD make my escrow shortage payment on-line and that it wouldn't effect my regular mortgage payment and schedule.
I asked specific questions and was never unsure of what I wanted to accomplish. My mortgage payment comes out automatically on the 6th of every month and has for years. When I scheduled the escrow shortage payment I followed Maria's advise as I don't schedule any payments and didn't know how to do so. What happened was not only did the shortage come out the whole mortgage amount came out on the 1st of Feb. I wasn't financially prepared to pay all that amount and left me with a negative balance. I had to scramble to transfer funds into my checking account to make all my other bills. Payday is tomorrow so the money would have been in the account in plenty of time to make usual mortgage payment on the 6th. Also I found out there was another payment coming out on the 6th that I didn't want or could afford to come out. It took 3 phone calls to find all this out. My time is valuable and I was extremely frustrated with everyone. I did get a promise that the Feb. 6th payment was canceled.
Adam told me this, I just pray he knows more than Maria did.
We have excellent credit (in the high 700's) and take much pride in this. So for this to happen was not only an inconvenience, it was risking that credit that we have worked so hard and long to keep.
We will be shopping around for a new Mortgage company now. Someone who will appreciate a reliable, credit worthy customer. Someone who wants our business and treats us like a VALUABLE customer not like a machine. I shudder to think how I would have been treated if I had called for a financial hardship and needed help.
Shame on you Bank of America.
