Bank of America
Rudet

We bought a new home recently and our mortgage was transferred to BOA. We have paid our first half property taxes and also deposited $300 for escrow. The second statement we receive from BoA showed that we have to pay a shortage amount towards our escrow which is about 50 per month. Being new to all this, i wanted to clarify about this and called the customer service. The electronic voice wouldn't let me talk to a customer rep until I select an option from the menu (I later noticed that when you hit 0 4-5 times it will forward you to the customer rep. After the rep comes in - no greeting and he goes "My name is so and so and who am I speaking with" I answered and then he portrays the message "What are you calling for?" I explained him why I am calling and he says " I do not see any shortage payment on your statement and he later discovers that he was looking at a different account. And he opens my account and says "No, i do not see any shortage payment". I reiterated to him that I'm seeing the statement online and then he says in a rude voice - "Your statement shows 1450. Your payment due on July 1 is 1350". By the way he was responding you get the feeling that he was saying "Get off the freaking phone with me, let me enjoy my office hours doing some chatting with my colleagues" - Stupid customer service. And he never explained me what was wrong with the statement or why the statement shows something different than what I am due. And I have never complained about any one until now and I can't keep myself from doing so.

I would recommend people keeping away from this bank. They make you feel like they are doing favor for you when we are the ones making them earn their salaries.
