I have one of my mortgages with Green Tree. First of all, they generate your payment for the next month on the 8th of the current month. Since I never pay a mortgage before the 10th of the month, they haven't received my payment before they generate the next statement. When I pay my mortgage I look at the 'Current Payment' and ignore the Past Due Payment since I know that has been paid. When they suddenly added a field for 'Escrow Due' I didn't pay attention since there had never been anything before and the Total Amount due was, what I assumed to be two months - I didn't do the math. That, I will admit was my fault. After they called me over and over again, I was finally able to call them back today. I spoke to 4 different people without ever being told that I was being transferred. The last man I spoke to (Robert) would not give me his last name, accused me of not wanting to pay my mortgage, then stated that it was a fact I had been late on several payments since January. Even though I knew that was a lie, I checked my payments back to the first of the year and all had been paid on or before the 15th. Finally he said that he had to go and talk to people who wanted to pay their mortgage and hung up on me. I did send the additional from my back account today. I have this mortgage and another one on a rental. Before that I have had 3 other mortgages, all paid off, never a late payment. Never before, with any creditor, have I been treated so poorly or been accused of not wanting to pay my bills or that I had made late payments. Do not do business with the company if you can help it.
