I want to warn everyone, if you own a house and want to have any work done DO NOT use Best Value Remodelers! We bought windows from them and this will be the SIXTH time in 2 years they have leaked and need to be repaired. They were not cheap windows either. Not to mention its like pulling teeth to get them to actually come out and do the repair work. The repairman told me he didn't want to come out anymore than I wanted him to because it's at his cost. NO, this cost me plenty, 6,000 in the first place and now my carpet is getting ruined. So mad I could spit nails. Thinking of hiring an attorney if it isn't repaired today. It started leaking 9/23 and they were supposed to come 9/28 and never showed so when I called they said they would be here 10/3 at 10AM. When no one was here by 11 I made several calls every hour on the hour to check on when the crew would be here and they NEVER came. Expecting them this morning 10/4 but who really knows. I don't know how they stay in business like this.
Each time they have come out they have just removed the existing caulk and then recaulked it. But the problem is that the window has been leaking so putting caulk where there is moisture between the window and the frame is not going to work because the caulk won't adhere right and will eventually fail. I'm no window expert but I know it needs to be dried before recaulking. Once, I mentioned it and the guy they sent to repair took a paper towel and dabbed it along the exsisting caulk... Are you kidding? The moisture is between the window and frame so the window needs to be removed and probably the wood on the frame needs to be replaced after being sealed with moisture in it for MONTHS.
This is just our experience from the latest leak, previous times they have had to come out I had the same trouble getting anyone to call me back after saying they would, they don't show up at the time they say they will and they don't call you to tell you they aren't gonna make it that day. We will never use them again and will tell everyone we know our experience.
