On November 1st I contacted Fast Again, PC Booster online to speed up my laptop and was directed to call their phone number (1 (855) 246-1103). The customer representative I talked to claims his name was Johnson Brown. I wondered about this because he said that he was from India. Anyhow after he checked my system I was told that I needed my registry cleaned out to stop collecting infections that were prevalent in it already. I was quoted a price of $350.00 to which I explained, I did not have. Only then was I told that it could be done for $198.00. The service was supposedly done and I paid the $198.00. Days later, I called Fast Again because my laptop was still very slow and would freeze often. The rep I spoke to this time checked my system and began to give me the same offer as the previous rep had given me. I immediately told him I had already paid for that service and gave him my order number. I was astonished when he came back on and told me that the order number that I had was not theirs and quickly tried to distance the company from the fact that apparently one of their reps had steered me to a company in India. Frustrated and stunned I tracked down the company asking for an immediate refund. I was told that I had to call yet another number, which turned out to be in India. When I called them asking for my refund, I was told to let them fix the problem. After trying several times and my security features telling me that the site was unreliable, I was told that they would have a technician call me the next day to complete the job. That evening I contacted PayPal, who handled the payment and filed a request to have my money refunded immediately. That company was Avangate and I never heard anything else from them. I'm still waiting for the results from my PayPal request and wondering if I could sue Fast Again for facilitating fraud.
