Bridgevine
Direct TV cable scam

This company is a huge scam. I went onto Comcast Cable's website and called the number listed, and somehow it connected me with Bridgevine. I placed an order over the phone for Direct TV service, and gave them a credit card number, which they said was for the "shipping fees" on the cable box. The man told me that the total would be for $14.95. He also told me I would be contacted within 24 hours by a technician to schedule installation of service.

The next thing I know, I get a "confirmation" email into my inbox, showing that the amount charged was actually $49.95. There were also links such as "order status, " "view receipt, " etc in the email. But when I clicked on the links, they came up on my internet browser as non-existent. I waited 2 days and still had gotten no phone call. I called the customer service phone number listed in the email, which obviously connects you to a call center in India. I gave them my confirmation number and told them that it had been well over 24 hours, and still no phone call from a tech. The woman said, "oh, it's actually a 72 hour window." So I waited until 72 hours had passed, and then called them again. This time I was told that my order hasd already been "submitted" to Direct TV, so I needed to call Direct TV directly, and they gave me the phone number for Direct TV. When I called Direct TV, they had absolutely NO RECORD of my order or any of my information in their system. So I called Bridgevine again, and was given a different bogus confirmation number to give to Direct TV. I again called Direct TV. Again, that number meant nothing to them, and was not in their system. On the third time around calling Direct TV, the Direct TV rep was nice enough to get Bridgevine on the phone at the same time she had me on the phone. She asked the rep how they "submit" their customer's orders to providers like Direct TV, and the rep did not have an answer. He started to stutter, and then said he would need to get his supervisor on the phone. When the supervisor got on the phone, he again would not directly answer the question, and instead kept dancing around the subject, and continued giving the Direct TV rep bogus confirmation numbers. Finally I cut in and told him that I was putting a "stop payment" on the credit card, because clearly they are just giving everyone the runaround. He told me that in order to cancel, I would need to call Bridgevine's customer service back (at a different number) the next day (Saturday) between 10 and 7. So today that is exactly what I did. When I reached the customer service rep in India, I was told that my order has been "submitted" to Direct TV, and I would have to call Direct TV to cancel. I then reiterated for the 5th or 6th time that direct tv has no record of my order. I also told her that HER OWN COMPANY told me to call this number to cancel my order. I became irate, and started yelling at her, telling her that this company is clearly not a real company and they are just running a SCAM. She just sat there in silence, and kept repeating, "is there anything else I can do for you today?" It was like talking to a WALL. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT do business with them or give them your money. They will ask you for your credit card and also your social security number.
