I was approved for a phone from Safelink. The phone was defective and I asked for a replacement. Safelink asked me to send the defective phone back which I did through the USPO. A replacement hone was sent to me. Apparently someone stole the phone at the PO. Safelink canceled the replacement service and after a series of calls finally sent me another replacement phone. I called Safelink today to advise them that I had misplaced the phone. They told me that i would have to purchase a new phone since this was considered a second replacement. When I told them that I had a replacement phone, they advised me that my unused minutes would not be transfered to the new phone. I see this as a theft of service from the Government and the client. This practice should be investigated since the government is being billed for services that are being withheld from the client.
