I have read many other complaints and not sure what the next steps are to take against the city. They are obviously ripping people off and only few people have the time to say anything. Those who do have claims that are rejected even when they clearly have evidence to support their claim.in the last 6-months I have been given tickets for:
Parking on private property without owner permission. I wrote LA PVB with a letter from the owner and my request was denied. I paid the ticket because I did not have time to fight it.
Parking in a Yellow Zone after 6pm: I printed out the City's own laws and sent them. The claim was denied and they charged me.
Having expired tags: I HAD CURRENT TAGS. The claim was denied.
Most recently: parking at a broken meter. Not only did I appeal it, but the city lied and said they sent an inspector out there. I requested maintenance records and they responded by saying it was 21 days past and that I needed to pay it, plus a penalty. [continued below]...
