Our vehicle was involved and damaged in an auto accident on 7-21-04, rendering it undrivable. The vehicle remained at the repair shop for 2 months for inspection and repairs. While the car was in the shop, we received 2 citations, one for double parking and one for expired registration tag.
The vehicle was purchased in October. The "tags" were the first, one and only tags which has not expired. We enclosed a picture of the license plate proofing our claim. The tags were current. Our vehicle was brand new and the tags were current, in fact it has another month before expiration. We were outraged of the fraudulent citations!
In addition to pictures of our license plate, we also sent in sworn declarations from the body shop manager to the Los Angles Parking Violations Bureau for clarifications.instead of deleting or cancelling their mistakes, they "reduced" our penalty... Even though it was apparent that they made a mistake! I agree with one of your commentators... Time is ripe for a class action lawsuit!
