On July 26th I filled out an application for a credit card with Best Buy in Garner, North Carolina. Needless to say the application had all of my confidential information listed. Within 48 hours a purchase was made in Charlotte, North Carolina for $2,800 at the Best Buy Store. There were two $1,000 and one $800 gift certificates bought. So the supposedly state of the art security protection of my personal information was compromised. This person now has all of my information including my social security number and has tapped into another credit card and made purchases on it. Now I am going through a mess trying to make sure this person does not do any more damage to my credit and reputation. I have had to take time off from work to file papers, numerous hours on the phone making phone calls and several trips to the police station to file a report and take information to them and pick up the report. I want people out there to know what kind of business that the Best Buy stores practice. On the home page of the Best Buy Corporate Headquarters there are 345 complaints against them.in scanning the comments some were for identity fraud. I wish I would have checked the website as if I would have I would have NEVER applied for credit at a Best Buy Store. Consumers be ware Thank you
