I had moved dedicated server operations from 1&1 (another awful company) to Redstation. At first the relationship was fine, everything was ok, except for the odd email outage caused by their stupid SMTP Relay system. Little did I know that this was going to be the biggest problem.

One of my clients had their account compromised and their account sent 20,000 email spam. Redstation Ltd. Immediately castrated my server by disabling the SMTP Relay and demanded £500 before reinstating it. Despite me reminding them this wasn't caused by any fault of my own I was directed to their draconian AUP Policy which states that I as a Redstation Ltd. Customer am held personally responsible for the actions of all of my clients. This comes after I had also noticed and reported that my server was coming under excessive hack attack attempts, which they did absolutely nothing about whatsoever. I am now lumped with a server that cannot send any emails whatsoever.

They seem completely unmindful of the effect this has on a small business owners trade and reputation.

!! Do not use any company that forces you to use smtp relays for email!!
