I purchased 2 simple bar stools from the Ashley store in Murietta, CA. I was able to pick them up within a couple of days from the local warehouse. Brought them home but one of them was damaged just on the seat of the bar stool. I called the customer service person and spoke with Renee. I explained what was wrong and simply just asked if they could just order me another stool or just order the part. Just let me know when it comes in and I can pick it up. Thinking that my request was simple and resolvable I was obviously wrong. After going around and around with her, she even asked me to take a picture of it and send it to her. Really??? She had all of my information including the model number so why would this even be necessary. So finally after a time she said she will call me the next day and let me know the status. I told her to just leave the information with my mom since she is babysitting that day. So she did to my surprise and informed my mom that the part will be shipping to my home. Ok fine. Time had gone by and by the following Monday nothing had arrived. I called Renee and inquired if she can check on the status and I even asked her was it to be shipped to my home or to the warehouse? After placing me on hold she comes back to the phone and states that it will be shipping to the warehouse. I told her you know, I was expecting something to arrive to my home so can you please make sure we are all on the same page regarding this. Then I asked what the delay was. She said the warehouse people are not here on Mondays so she will call me tomorrow and let me know no later than 5pm. So it's around 2pm and I heard nothing so I decided to call. The warehouse closes at 4pm, it's my day off and calling me by 5pm is too late because if the part came in, I can pick it up. So I call and get Renee again. She states she still hasn't heard anything from the warehouse. I mention to her that it didn't even take this long to get the barstools initially. Why is it taking so long. Then she gets an attitude and states she has no control over what parts come in and what doesn't. I agree with that to a certain extent. I said you need to keep me informed of what is going on and I stated this is just a barstool part. She said she couldn't get a hold of anyone in the warehouse because they are making deliveries. I said well I remember when I went to pick up the barstools initially there were guys in there. Then all of a sudden she says oh the part is in. I said you just told me it wasn't. Her credibility was already out the window. And she even had the odacity to tell me when I asked her how she would feel if the shoe were on the other foot? That yes she would be upset but wouldn't be calling excessively about it. Yeah right! And I called only once on Monday to inquire and then this once on Tuesday to follow up. I don't call that excessive and I told her so. She was argumentative and I said all you are doing is making me angrier. I will come by today and pick up the barstool. So after that phone call I immediately called the customer service line and asked for a manager or supervisor. I spoke with Angela and explained what had happened. Then she tells me that the part is going to me shipped tomorrow. I said well then I just caught Renee in another lie because she said the part was in. She said it was a communication error on the part of the warehouse not Renee's fault. After explaining to her everything she said she will call me back today and give me a status. I said this is the first time dealing with Ashley and who's to say this won't happen again. This was just a simple barstool. Imagine a larger order and having to deal with Renee again? No thanks Ashley.
