Tried to subscribed to Talktalk for internet service. The contract was to commence on the 13/04. But, when the Hub arrived that day that I was to go live. I tried to set it up but noticed the Hub could not fit. So called TalkTalk com and cancelled the contraWas advised to return the Hb and will be charged £4.00 for the period of 11 days when the line will be disconnected. I agreed and sent of the Hub enclosing the sum of £5.00 cheque. Called BT telecom to provide with internet the following day 14/04. The contract was set and still up running. To my amazement Talk kept sending me bills which I explained to them that I cancelled my contract with them before it even took off and the outstanding charge has already been paid. But they will not have it. Finally got to speak to their manager who said it was an error as, they thought they had an engineer visit to my property hence, the extra charge of £120 which they have now waved and the other bills I should ignore and no more letter or bill will be sent to me. To my surprise I got a letter from a debt collector company asking me to pay up or face legal proceeding as, Talk talk as directed to recover their money which never was. So I am asking for an apology, an explanation and compensation for the stress they have caused me.
