I love my phone company. After reviewing my phone bill today I noticed an additional charge of $14.95 on the final page. It was a charge form ESBI, billing me for ORBIT TELECOM. I contacted my telephone company ans was informed the charge was not generaterd by them and that they had no control over the charge (according to a Federal Law). They also said that I needed to contact ESBI at the phone number listed on my bill (1-888-302-3724), I tried and no one answered, so they gave me another number (1-800-263-0206).
I called this number and was greeted by a customer service rep. Who could not seem to understand anything I was saying. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transfrerd to someone which I thought was the same person.
At this point I was asked for my phone number and they could not find any match in their system, and I was asked for my name, again no match, repeating the same with my e-mail address, no match. The supervisor (Gerri), said we do not have anything with my information on it and thus so they (ORBIT TELECOM) could not do anything to help me. I asked what ORBIT TELECOM was and was informed that ORBIT TELECOM was an internet answering service and that the only way I could of been billed was if I signed up for the service on the internet. I explained that I had not ordered anything from ESBI or ORBIT TELECOM and that ORBIT TELECOM was stealing money from me and that I wanted it to stop and a credit issued for the funds they had taken. I was informed by Gerri that they could not do this because ORBIT TELECOM could not find me in their system. Gerri told me to fax them my phone bills to 1-800-803-9989 and that ORBIT TELECOM whould review them and get back to me. I informed ORBIT TELECOM that I had already givin them my information and that I was not going to fax any of my personal information to anyone I don't know.
After several hours of my own investigation I was able to locate the source of this problem. It was a (MINOR) child of a friend who had ordered ths information from ORBIT TELECOM without their knowledge of doing so while on the internet at another site. Closer review of my phone bills I noticed I have been charged twice before, and now the charges totaled $42.85.
I called ORBIT TELECOM back and gave the supervisor, Gerri, the name of the minor and they were able to locate the file immeaditally. After ORBIT TELECOM relised that it was a minor who they sold the service to ORBIT TELECOM immeadiatlly processed a request for a credit of all of the amount billed $42.85. I was told that I should see the credit on my next phone bill.
I hope these numbers help any one else resolve their issues with ORBIT TELECOM, and wish everyone luck.
