This report was written two years ago and nothing has change!!!
"Remington Place Apartments is nothing but a joke. The people who run this place are lazy, incompetent fools who don't care about the tenants or the property their supposed to manage.
Ever since me and my wife moved in to this sorry place a few months ago, we've had nothing but trouble. Nothing in this place works. The elevators are dirty and go out of service at least once a week, the stairwells stink and are full of graffetti and the plumbing is bad. Since we moved in, we've been without hot water three or four times and twice last month, they had to turn off the water for a whole day!
Our apartment isn't much better. The carpet is badly worn in some places, the bathroom walls are full of mildew, the kitchen light doesn't work, the window blinds won't open and we've got an old refrigerator that has so much frost, it took us a couple of days to get rid of it! We also have a neighbor who likes to have her TV on real loud at all hours and she has a dog that won't shut up! Which really pisses us off because the lease says tenants aren't supposed to have pets!!! Not only that but every time her boyfriend comes over, they get in an argument and you can hear everything they say because the walls around here are real thin too.
When we told the leasing office about the things that needed to be done, we were promised they'd have it done in a week. Well, its been six weeks now and the only thing they've done is replace our blinds. They told us we'd have to replace the kitchen light ourselves and that there was nothing they could (would?) do about the mildew. They said we should go out and buy a bottle of Tilex and clean it off! They also said that as long as the refrigerator was working they weren't going to give us a new one. Even though the people across the hall from us got a new refrigerator the day before they moved in! So why didn't we? No answer. They also insisted that the carpet wasn't worn and that we should get someone from Sears to come over and steam clean it. Excuse me, isn't that what your supposed to do?!
When we complained about our neighbor and her loud TV, they told us we should call 911! And when we told them she kept a dog in her apartment, they told us there was nothing they could (again, would?) do about it. When I pointed out that tenants weren't supposed to have pets because it says so in the lease, all they said was they'd make a note of my complaint. I asked them why couldn't they just make her get rid of the dog and they said it would be too hard to do! That's the lamest excuse I ever heard.
Remington may look nice on the outside but on the inside this place looks real sorry. I'm just glad we signed a six month lease because as soon as its up, we're gone! If you're looking for an apartment in Fort Washington, Maryland, don't come here. Go someplace else because this place is sorry."
To add on to this, the carpet in the building has been removed for about 2 months or so. The building no longer looks nice from the outside.
