I'm a single mom on section 8 and I was living in quail creek apartments for one year. I just moved in to my new place I'm at now Aug. 1st2010. I took pictures of my apartment at quail creek and there was stains on the carpet and patches of different colored carpet in the closets so on... It was not used carpet. I took care of that place and kept it as clean as I could. I was a good tenant. Never had a complaint or the police to my place. I read reviews about quail creek online but I chose to ignore the things people were saying... Scams and all. I spent 4 hours on cleaning that place and had it looking nice. Yes there was a cat I fed and let in my home when it rained because I felt bad for it and the cat tore the carpet by the window and my kids bedroom door but that was it. That carpet needed to be replaced anyway. The only reason they didn't replace it was because I had kids and that's where they got me... A couple days ago I got a call from Nichole at quail creek asking if I got my bill and I said no and she said I was charged $3 hundred and something? I think she said 390. I was like for what and yes I was mad because I cleaned that place real good. She said pet deposit even though that cat only was in my apartment at times. That cat is probably still around there. She also said $40for the blinds and she said a spray for fleas. I told her I wasn't going to pay all of that because the walls are supposed to be painted anyway when a new tenant moves in. I took a recording of the apartment when I moved out on a Sunday night. I was supposed to be gone on a Saturday but I couldn't get a uhaul and the landlord said I could stay till Monday but I got a uhaul on Sunday and left on Sunday... I hung up on them when they called a few days ago because ibwas mad and the girl was telling me that undid get the bill and on the bible I didn't and I asked her what address she sent it to and she did have it wrong soni gave her the new address and told her to send it to me and next thing you no inget a letter today with a bill that now says i owe 1,659 dollars! My mom said since I yelled at them they raised it on purpose! There now saying I owe $390.00 for a pet deposit when it's not even that much. $40.00 for cleaning when I spent 4 hours cleaning and have that on tape. 1,128.00 for carpet and that was used carpet already stained and I have pictures of that when I moved it and apartments don't even charge that much for new carpet. 21.00 for blinds I'll pay that and 65 for exterminaTion and I don't have proof there was fleas on thAt cat but if they can prove that I'll pay but not for that carpet that already had different patches in it... There was even nails sticking up in the bedroom closet. I know since I said I wasn't going to pay the full 3 hundred something they said at first that's why there doing this and I don't think that's right and I don't want this going on my credit. I called free legal aid also. I will take a lue detector test saying what they said about the 3 hundred and now there mad and raised it... That is crazy. I had two kids and lived there for a year and there was no damage besides the 3 blinds the cat messed up when I didn't know it ran in my place when I left for a few days and the carpet being dirty and what the cat did but as much patches they had in the Capet already they could of just patched those also. Like I said I have pictures. There trying to scam a single mother in welfare and that is so so so sad. My mom agrees and so does my everyone else. Thank you for your time. -Jennife
