Had DirectTV in our home in Strasburg, CO, then moved to a townhouse in Westminster, CO with all intentions of having the service transferred. However, after having two technicians come out and tell us that there was no way to install the dish we would have to cancel our service and because it was due to no fault of our own the cancellation fee would be waived. Followed up with two customer service reps to ensure the fee was waived. We were assured everything was good. Received a bill in the mail showing a zero balance. Two months later received a bill for the 110.69. Called and explained the situation, wrote a letter explaining the situation, had our landlord write a letter on our behalf. Was told the issue was resolved and not to worry. Received no more bills or correspondence from DirectTV until last week when we received a letter from a collection agency in regard to this charge. Almost 6 years later! Have called and spend more than 30 minutes on hold with numerous different customer service reps only to have them tell me that we should have been charged the cancellation fee and that their techs and customer service reps were wrong ~ Are You Kidding Me DirectTV?!?!?
