Poor internet speed and customer service - 6 mbps and unlimited long distance

I completely understand the "how far you live away from the central hub" thing. I work customer service the disconnect dept for a major tv provider, so I understand you getting a customer on the phone and them saying they see a better offer. I know how much in the back of my mind I want to strangle that person. But here is the problem I have. When I have called Windstream every single month with notations in my bill binder of names and emp id's with the same repeating issues and concerns at you tell me there isnt much you can do, then that makes me want to leave. I called windstream earlier this morning due to the fact we pay between 80-90 a month for 6 mbps and unlimitied long distance. We get avg 1.5. I have spoken with their help desk I believe a total of 4 times. I see this great deal, granted it does come with a contract but I would be saving 300 for the first year and 200 the second year. Now granted this company does have alot of the bbb complaints and I know that its not always the company. But we called in this morning spoke with a Josh who offered to lower our unlimited long distance. Well we have family in TX, BA, SC, and MO so we cant go that route. Granted we both have cell phones but my problem is we lowered those options because I recently started a small business and I need my long distance for conf calls a what not. So we get transf to a "specialist" which I know is the cancellation dept. She offered us 10.00 off for like 6 months and that was the best option. Well when we expressed to her that we were still saving more money her comment was well you have the lowest and I am offering you the max I understand that their are better deals out there but this is all we can do. There was no empathy or willingness to help us. WHat made it worse was that it took her 10 mins to "find" that 10.00 discount. Needless to say we are more than likely switching. To be told to unhook all of you wireless devices to run yet another speed test that it is our computers and recivers that is not ok. Just be fore warned that if you live in a somewhat rural area and you are operating 1 or more devices no matter what they are a cell phone even be warned that you are only going to get anywhere between. 5-2.0 mbps
