I started getting strange text messages and replied "stop" figuring this would stop them. After a couple of days it did stop. When I got my T-Mobile bill it showed a premium services charge for $9.99. I called T-Mobile and they said the service wasn't cancelled and I could still receive text messages so they put a block on the service. I was told they could not reverse the charge because it was a third-party billing, so I ended up paying for something I didn't subscribe to.
