I am a 68 Year Old, and pay Home Mortgage (at 12.75% Interest Rate) plus Rent (since my Manufactured Home, purchased and lived in since 1998, is on Rented Land and not my Personally Owned Land), in, Longmont, Colorado.
I am presently on SSDI (Social Security Disability) as my only Income, after a CVA (Stroke) in 2004 with Relapse in and am a Resident of Longmont, Colorado, Residing in a Community known as Longview.
Longview Ownership has recently changed and Longview is now owned by: American Manufactured Communities (AMCREIT}.
Longview “Rules” require the Rent to be paid: 1. On the 1st of each Month. 2. With an allowable grace period” to the 5th of each Month, with excessive accumulating “Late Fees” accruing after the 5th. 3. However, I originally worked out a “verbal arrangement” (with witnesses Present, i.E. My actingassigned Power of Attorney) to pay my Rent on the date that my SSDI comes in each Month, which falls on a different day each month. 4. This is not a situation whereby I do not pay my Rent, I do pay it in full every Month, however I have no Personal control over that situation as to the Date of the Month it is available and is paid, it is Fixed Income, under the control of the Government, and Longview is now refusing to accept that (when they previously did accept it), i.E. This verbal arrangement initially seemed acceptable to Longview, for Months until American Manufactured Communities took over, then suddenly it was not acceptable.
I sent Longview a printed list of the Dates in 2012 (when my Government SSDI is Auto Deposited to my Bank), and my Rent will be paid, multiple times via Personal Delivery to Longview, via Postal Mail, and via Email.
In addition, Longview has never previously complained about my Rent Payments and has accepted my Checks, and has never made any mention of it no longer being acceptable to American Manufactured Communities.
Suddenly (after American Manufactured Communities took over): 1. Longview will no longer accept my valid Rent payments (until I pay the “Back Late” Fees they claim I now suddenly owe). 2. Longview wants me to go back to paying a late Fee for every Rent Payment submitted after the 5th, from now on. 3. And in addition wants to Retroactively bill me for Late fees going back to all the Months I have been paying Rent from the beginning of this arrangement.
Also, I have never received: 1. Any such notice, by Official Postal Mailed Letter, from American Manufactured Communities itself. 2. Any “Official” Postal Mail, or Emails from Longview (or replies to my Emails to Longview) regarding this particular situation. 3. Instead Longview Scotch Tapes Notes of “Demand” to my Front Door (calling them “Letters from AMC”) but “mysteriously” with no Official AMC Logo and Address Information, in my personal opinion Longview does not seem to be really conveying AMC's actual true position on this issue. 4. Longview avoids personal communication on this issue (in one such “Note”, Longview has essentially indicated, that they will no longer agree to any such payment schedule that I have submitted to them, which is apparently regardless of my “situation”. 5. My Banker's Life and Casualty Agent has agreed to contact Longview, on mybehalf (since he also initially assumed there was some “resolution” of this issue Months ago), but so far apparently, even in his intervention, there had been no successful contact withLongview. 7. Accordingly, I have filed an initial Better Business Bureau Complaint, to have Official Documented records of a contact with Longview and American Manufactured Communities (since I am not certain that AMC even is aware of the situation here), and the BBB is awaiting a reply from the Business (AMC).
