On The above date I James David went to BP gas station on 2Glen cove Rd to purchase Ten dollar of gas using my Nexis visa Debit card. After leaving the station monents later i recevie a notice that a hold of seventy dollars was place against my Debit card for a ten dollar purchase which was not authorize my me. I call my card company and inform them of what had happen. They said they would look into it and credit my account as soon as the vendor settle for the Ten dollar. I called the sevice station and spoke to the manager and he said it was a common pratice to place a higher monetery sum on people account when one purchase gas using a credit card. I feel that this pratice should stop or the comsumer should be inform in advance of this pratice and posted where people can see it. Then decided in advance before buying or using any of there services.
