My husband stopped at the Chevron station on 484 at I75 in Ocala, FL to get fuel for our compact car. Using our Mastercard, he put $29.25 in the tank. Later that evening, we realized the station had placed an authorization to hold $75.00, IN ADDITION to taking the $29.25! The fuel was paid for, AND they have an additional $75.00 of our money tied up. Calls to the station have done no good. It's hard to even get anyone to answer the phone. Whomever does, has no idea what to do, and Santi, whom they say is the manager, isn't there. I have called Chevron's Corporate office, and hopefully they will get this resolved. I understand the need to protect the station from drive offs, but to place a $75.00 hold on a car that is clearly a compact, not likely to have a tank that would hold that much in fuel, is unnecessary. And, once the $29.25 cleared, our $75.00 should have been released. I can't help but wonder how many customers at this station have had the same thing happen, but haven't realized it yet. I've never had a station place a hold on my funds before!
