Extremely poor communication, vehicle still not fixed after 5 days - Firestone Complete Auto Repai

Early in the morning (12:30am) on March 3rd we arrived in College Station for a weekend conference. While parking at the hotel, we noticed that it didn't feel like the power steering was working in our 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. We also noticed several fresh fluid spots on the pavement. That morning, my friend took a taxi to the conference, and after confirming that the power steering fluid reservoir was completely dry, I called Firestone and had a tow truck take the Santa Fe to the shop on 2400 Texas Ave S. I went on to the conference and awaited a phone call from the shop. I ended up having to call Firestone around 4pm and found out that the part could not be obtained locally and would have to be shipped from Houston and probably wouldn't arrive until Tuesday. At 4pm on a Saturday, it is not easy arranging a rental car. It would have been much better for them to have called me as promised as soon as they knew what was going on. We ended up driving the rental home to San Antonio. The plan was for the part to arrive Tuesday (Wed at the latest) and we would drive back to get the vehicle Thursday. I was assured that I would be called on Wed and given an update. When I called Wed at 6:00, the manager had already left and nobody at the shop could tell me what was going on. Thursday morning I called again and now the story is that the part never arrived and was probably sent to another store - but they don't know for sure. I took off work today as did my friend to go and get the vehicle. We are forecast to have some really horrible weather in the next few days and I certainly don't want to drive back roads for 3 hours in it. But we might not have to since we still don't know what is up with the part and when we can expect to have the vehicle repaired. We use Firestone for 4 vehicles and have been quite pleased with the service we have received in San Antonio and Port Arthur (stranded with bad gas). I cannot believe how these guys in College Station are handling this repair. Telling the truth doesn't seem to cross their minds, let alone calling when they say they will.
