I currently live in Hawaii and took my car to the Firestone location on Kamehameha Hwy in Aiea. I have been a Firestone customer for many years prior to moving to Hawaii making me comfortable with the customer service and work of the Firestone Brand. After yesterday's experience, I will no longer be a customer at Firestone and I will make sure I share my negative experience with not only any one of the 300 sailors at my current command looking for automobile service, I will share my experience with family, friends, and those I come in contact with in the future. I brought my car in to investigate a stalling issue and had them do a full vehicle check. When they were finished, I pointed out that their results did not present problems in areas that were deemed problematic and were not fixed just two weeks prior. They also informed me of a new problem which was not reported on the previous inspection. They told me my power steering fluid was low and that they had topped it off. After driving away, my car had an additional rumbling noise to accompany the stalling feeling and I no longer had any power steering. Never before this visit have I had issues with this vehicles power steering system. After taking the car back, I pointed out to the technician that all of the power steering fluid had dripped out as there was a trail on the ground leaving the bay. There was only one trail. The power steering fluid was not leaking when I entered the shop, and the technician admitted that it was easily driven in as a car with a functional power steering system should. Because the manager wasn't on duty yesterday, they were able to give me a rental car until they talked to him. Today, I was told that my car was broke when I brought it in and they are not responsible. Not being in the garage during the inspection, I don't know if the technician bumped a hose, purposefully pulled it to get more money out of me, or what. I do know that my car was returned to me in a worse condition than in which it was dropped off. The antics and lack of customer care displayed at this particular location will surely take my business elsewhere, along with anyone else I can tell my story.
