I bought my tires at Firestone a year ago, I got all of the road hazard etc.in the deal. I brought my vehicle in because my tire had a slow leak. First I was told I didn't have any road hazard so they would fix the tire for $21.00, I said skip it I'll go to another station for $15.00, and I left. Employee chased me down saying I had the road hazard after all, so I went back in the store to have my tire fixed. 45 minutes later employee comes out and tells me I have a bad Ferrel (sp?) valve, a stripped TPMS valve and they cannot fix the tire without replacing this valve, it is against the law. I was told it would be $119 to fix it, what do I want them to do? I said I need my vehicle for a job the next day I guess you better fix it. Later I was told they were not able to get the valve on a Sunday night, because the place where I bought my vehicle makes it difficult for them to get the part. So I asked how long will it take? Employee said a few days. I said I would call my dealership the next morning to see what they could do. Employee said ask how much it will cost to replace TPMS and Firestone will beat it with a great price in few days. So Firestone sent me on my way with a nail in the tire after signing a form saying I would not hold them liable. Called my dealer the next am, brought my vehicle in and they said it would be $180.00 for the valve. I told them what Firestone quoted me, and was told that does not include programming the chip in the vehicle. My dealers mechanic looked into the problem and found no problem with the TPMS valve it worked just fine! My dealer fixed the tire and found a few other things, like my 1 year old Firestone tires are needing to be replaced soon. So much for a good deal at Firestone in Duluth. They left me to drive an unsafe vehicle for a problem that did not exist. What a scam!!! I will never do business with Firestone again, so much for a good deal on tires.
