Received check for $2500.00 and letter in how to claim "prize" What stood out was that check received was issued by a legitimate company (internet search). So, I called their Accounts Payable Department and was told by them that this was a scam (obviously). I emailed them the check copy and letter so they could pursue on their end.
Fraudulent checks have hit our bank before and we have since changed banking practices so no check is ever paid without prior approval. Wanted to save someone the hassle of what we had to deal with which I why I called the check "issuer".
