Vehicle Protection of America
Consumer Report

I received an official-looking flyer in the mail telling me that my warranty was about to expire. Don't ask me why I thought it was Mercedes-Benz, but I did, and the agent I spoke to verbally confirmed he was an employee of Mercedes (WRONG)! This was on 12/3. After a lengthy discussion of the warranty, he went so far as to tell me he had the Mercedes protection on his wife's car. I never received any paperwork about the transaction, and when I asked what the balance was on the account, it was at least $600 more than we discussed on 12/3. The agent also seemed to be in a hurry, and now that I think about it, he was an extremely fast talker to begin with. When I complained about the remaining balance, he hurried off the phone. That set off a red flag, so I decided to try to find out if this company was affiliated with Mercedes Benz. To my dismay, it does not. I made a down-payment, and 1 additional payment so far. I've called the company to cease and desist this transaction and to get my money back. I bet my bottom dollar, I'm going to have a hard time getting my money back so I can go directly to Mercedes... Which is what I thought I was doing on 12/3. Oh, the call that tipped me off that something wasn't right was on 1/12. That agent misrepresented Mercedes Benz, and shame on them! Now that I've seen another scam complaint about that company, good thing nothing has gone wrong with my car. I submitted a BBB complaint without batting an eyelash, even though they're not associated; maybe it will help me in the long/short run.

After getting the address of this company, I had to go DUH, because it was Boca Raton, FL... Home of many scam companies. Their address was not on the official-looking flyer, either. They are also NOT associated with the BBB; another red flag! Now, I have a headache thinking about how desperate I was not to let my warranty expire, which led this guy to tell me whatever I wanted to hear. His comment about his wife's policy was a play on words to make me continue to think I was dealing with Mercedes. His tone with me now is slightly snotty and will probably get worse since I'm asking for my money back. LOOK OUT FOLKS! Talk about false advertising... Pfffffffffff
