I received a call today (private Number) caller id did not register. It was from a man telling me he worked for UPS and that they had a package to be delivered to me tomorrow at 10:00. I recognized the voice as being from Jamaica, as I have received several calls in the past months from people in Jamaica trying to rip me off. He started to ask me questions like my name (in the phone book) and then asked me if I would be available for delivery at 10:00 tomorrow. I said yes, knowing it was a scam. I then asked him again who he was, He said "his name was John Peterson and that He worked for UPS, and he had a package to be delivered to me"
I asked him for his phone number, he gave me 1-876-367-2116, which I immediately recognized it as a number from Jamaica having had a lot of them lately. I originally fell for this at a time when I was pretty broke and they actually convinced me that I had won a lottery prize a whiole back and actually gave them 40.00.
I have Learned A Valuable Lesson Since, but still am continuing to get these phone calls.
I called the number that they they daid was his manager and got someone else, who when called out on it, suddenly said he was his Secretary, LOL. And that their office was located out of New York.
I called them on their SCAM and told them to have a great day in the sunshine of Jamaica, and Immediatly went on line to the BBB in Massachusetts who told me to contact you. I hope there is something to be done about this so that other do not loose more than I did.
