I have two Eee Netbooks both purchased within two months of each other. The older of the two netbooks was running an Asus update three weeks ago. The update was approx 40% complete when the system froze. The computer started making a loud noise after a hour of being froze on the update. The owners manual is very clear about not having a loss of power during updates/recovery. The netbook had to be shut off after nearly two hours of this horrible noise. The system has never once started again. The netbook was 13.5 months old and even though there update created the issue they inform us that there is nothing that can be done that will not include a charge. They also will provide no estimate of cost or even cost of shipping. The customer service with the company is horrid! I am stuck with the second netbook and am waiting for it to also soon crash. Like the other report listed I had many issues with the "bluescreen" but was told that it was something that I installed on the Netbook creating the issue. The computer was set up by the Best Buy IGH location's GeekSquad and we never added a single thing to the system. I work at a local university and will make sure I tell everyone I am able to about the horrible exp! (Personal Information Removed)
