We bought our son an Asus netbook for Christmas last year. I ordered it online for pick up at the store in Fredericksburg, VA, Central Park. We took it in last month because the hard drive went bad. The Geek Squad took it and had it repaired/replaced because it is still under the Manufacturer Warranty. We got it back only to find out it won't work because the Operating System is corrupt. When we took it back to the Geek Squad to handle, we were told that since we did not have recovery CDs, it would cost us $30 for the OS to be reinstalled. We were never given recovery CDs when we got the computer and never told we had to make our own. The guy from Geek Squad said it was my responsibility to know I needed them and to make my own before the HD went bad... I am not a computer wiz so how would I know that. He said well it is up to you to know that. So, now I have a netbook that doesn't work because no one accepts responsibility to reinstall the Operating system after they replaced the hard drive.
