In July VirualPC telephoned me to express concern for my computer which they stated was badly infected. They said it could be cleansed and it would cost me £113.99 for a two year contract. They appeared to have control of my computer from where -ever the phone call was made, and if I am honest "Scared me into paying the £113.99"... On the 13 September I received another Phone call asking me to switch on my computer because there was a problem. They pointed out "serious" intrusions which would "Close Down" my computer unless immediate action was taken, but it would be at a cost of in excess of £200 pounds! I argued that I had already entered into a two year contract which had only been running for a few months and they agreed to clear the problem for £100 in reward for me being "An Exsisting Customer". The money was paid to a person in India Via Western Union and it cost me £6.90 to send it Via Western Union.
On October 13th I received another telephone call from an Alex Morrison of Virualpccare telling me that if I required continued protection it would cost me "MORE" money, which I refused to pay.
He said he would then have to discontinue the cover I was receiving and asked me to give him my Debit card details in order to refund my £100. (I had cancelled the original card after talking with my Bank, and it has been replaced) I adamantly refused to give him the details he required and he put the telephone down.
MY FOUR Emails to Virualpccare, asking for an explanation have been ignored. This "Experience" has cost me £220.89 and I am VERY angry... I am 82 years of age. Computer users everywhere... Beware... Virtualpccare.com
